I love the quote and It tells about learning and living through good books. Only true Knowledge can remove you from all sufferings. Successful peoples(in life) are bookworm.
If I go to book store and I need to select the book then how I select the good books. Around 9 years ago, I used to buy books and I read the books for 1 day, if I liked it then I used to keep it otherwise return it. but nowadays it’s too much challenging to return or select right books. So, I use these techniques and majority of time it works.
To Select Book
Book Title, Genre and Writer Name (don’t just judge it by its Name)
Contents/Chapters
Preface, Introduction
Skim through chapters
I avoid writer who wrote multiple books in the same genre and context.
Don’t just follow the trend, read the reviews and checkout throughly then buy it.
Recommendation - who actually recommended, If Professionals or Favourite Writers did then you can read it.
To Read Book

Before reading a book, skim it to gain a clear picture of what to pay attention to and what to ignore. There are moments when I can’t skip anything. Sometimes, I skip half of a book. Life is too short to read books you don’t enjoy.
No rules for reading a book so Feel free to read it in any order
Skips the parts that are not relevant and you don’t have to read every page, cover to cover
Highlight text and take notes
Make Connections: Make links between the book and recent events, other books you’ve read, or your own life. This is how knowledge becomes wisdom.
